I had such a great time shooting Margaret and Dan’s engagement session last month. We started the evening by the Northpoint Lighthouse and Lake Park in Milwaukee, pausing in the exact spot where Dan got down on one knee and proposed last winter. We talked about how they met (they went to high school together), our mutual love for Scandal and Father of the Bride, and how their wedding plans are shaping up.
I always tell my clients that engagement sessions can be very awkward at first, but Margaret and Dan are so comfortable with each other and embraced the awkward so well that it totally worked in their favor–instead of feeling guarded and shy, they took the session as an chance to goof off and make each other laugh.
We shot right up until sunset and capped the evening off with a stroll along the lakefront and Discovery World, their wedding venue.
Congratulations on your engagement, Margaret and Dan! I cannot wait to photograph your wedding next summer! xoxo
