In my first year of business, for the sake of keeping things simple, I chose to deliver images to my clients via a cloud system. I thought the benefits of cloud storage were great–images were easy to view on any computer/smartphone/tablet, easy for my clients to SHARE their images across social networks, offered secure online storage, with no overhead, etc etc. I used PASS, and overall found that my clients and I were thoroughly pleased with the app. (Watch this quick video about PASS on my website). After I completed a wedding, I uploaded the gallery and sent an email to the client inviting them to view/share/download their images. …But I felt like that method of delivering their final images lacked the quality and professionalism that I thought my clients deserved. You’re paying 2000+ dollars on my service and I want my brand and product to be more elevated than a simple email to a gallery. Which is why for 2014, I am including a flash drive in addition to the PASS gallery for all of my wedding clients. I’m not going to even touch the debate over shoot-and-share photographers vs. traditional business models of charging for discs and digital files…All I want is to best serve my clients, and to give them options. Digital deliverables + flash drive + proofs=Mackenzie Orth wedding collections. I want my clients to value my work, to value a printed photograph, and to also feel empowered to share their wedding photos with their family and friends. And that’s my philosophy on deliverables.
