Erin and Raphi were married at Two Pony Gardens in Long Lake, under a chuppah held up by their friends. I arrived early to photograph prep and the sprawling property, and found a smiling Erin, helping set up tables and decor. She and Raphi rode their bikes to Two Pony Gardens that morning and were as calm and collected as I’ve ever seen clients on their wedding day! They wanted a laid-back, informal ceremony and reception, and they incorporated a variety of different customs and traditions to make their wedding truly unique.
Staff of Two Pony Gardens prepared dozens and dozens of gourmet pizzas for the reception. I tried a slice of the margherita topped with their famous tomatoes and it. was. unreal.
Part of their ceremony included a hand-fasting ritual–guests participated by tying a personal note to the newlyweds around their wrists.
Things were running a little behind schedule, but I’d say it worked in our favor…the light was just perfect for shooting formal portraits.
Many thanks to Erin and Raphi! It was such a delight to work with you and I wish you all the best on your new adventures and travels to the West Coast!
